I'm having a serious issue with Webcrusher 1.7...when I update my site in iWeb '09 I publish it to a folder (updates show in this folder) then drag it to webcrusher...however when exported from webcrusher the changes aren't registered...it's as if the software reverts the site back to before I made changes. Please help...
Thanks,
Dax

Hi,
Delete the folder username/Documents/RAGE WebCrusher/
Then open WebCrusher and try again. Let me know if your changes publish now.

Therefore Webcrusher is not saving any file size from a 12mb website and also it's not removing 'iWeb 09' meta data.
I found this question and Buggered if I can find the folder username/Documents/RAGE WebCrusher/

Yep, I was wondering the same, as every time I webcrush I am now saving zero k, of which I was a tad suspicious, Surely I'm not that good at optimising.

Before pressing the Go button to optimize, select the Options menu in the lower left hand corner and then make sure 'Only Optimize Modified Files...' is turned off.

You guys really need to do something about the workflow...here's what I have to do currently:
-Edit in iWeb
-Publish to folder
-Drag folder to Webcrusher (now wait a long time)
-Export to different folder
-Verify changes actually occurred
-Open folder with iWeb SEO Tool to reapply saved tags
-Publish function in iWEb SEO Tool isn't bullet proof so I always use my own FTP software...
Compared to iWeb:
-edit in iWeb then hit publish via FTP
Sorry didn't mean to go off on the tangent I'm still waiting for my webcrusher file to finish optimizing...4 minutes and counting.
Webcrusher just finished...still didn't work! Please help...

I /did/ get one page (the home page) to change by changing the folder to which I was exporting the iWeb site (creating a brand new folder): the word "test", inserted onto the home page, made it online. However, I had a new blog entry I'd created. Webcrusher clearly was optimizing it (I saw the name of the blog entry in the list of files optimized) but the website wasn't reflecting that particular change. I did all of the standard stuff while trying to view the list of blog entries (emptied out the browser cache, for example, and reloaded the page several times) and the entry just wouldn't appear -- the list of entries would only list those that were there when I originally "crushed" the website and used Webcrusher to export/upload it. Which is really weird, because the new entry is actually in the proper place in the directory on my hard drive that Webcrusher created when it optimized the site.
I've been through all of the preferences and can't see anything that would help. I've tried it with the "only optimize modified files" both on and off. Am I missing something here?

I'm using Webcrusher 1.7 also, with Mac OS 10.5.8 and iWeb 3.0.1 and I'm having the same (or similar) problem. If I use iWeb by itself and make changes, no problem. When I make changes to iWeb and publish to a folder on my hard drive, then drag that folder into Webcrusher, optimize it, and export it to my FTP server, the changes aren't reflected.

Please email support so we can send you an updated version which should fix this issue.

I have been using iWeb, publishing to a folder, using WebCrusher to lighten the load, and then uploading the code without a problem.. Until now.
My site now has several different pages with "log in" code I embed from AuthPro which allows me to have users generate passwords, etc. Works great if I upload the code without crushing. After using WebCrush, the format of these pages is altered, sometimes significantly. The quick solution is to use WebCrusher on all of the page except those with the log-on code, but that adds quite a hiccup in my workflow.
thanks

Hi Adam,
Sorry for the problems you are having.
If you could send us one of the pages that has this problem I can look into why it is happening and hopefully get it fixed ASAP.

This issue still isn't fixed...what on earth is going on with you guys?!?!? Webcrusher is still hit or miss on what it decides to optimize and export...extremely frustrating! I just ran my site through it and it picked up the changes I made to the album page but didn't pick up the changes I made to the actual photo album...which is on the same page...how can it pick up changes on part of the page yet ignore others?
Please help or refund my money!
Thanks,
Dax
Hi Dax,
Sorry for the problems you are having.
This thread talks about many different issues which have all been fixed in later versions or were just a misunderstanding of how the software worked.
I haven't heard of the issues you describe in the latest version of WebCrusher. What happens if you only export modified files in iWeb and use it in WebCrusher?

I'm still having the same issues that I originally posted on and I'm becoming more and more frustrated. I'm using Webcrusher 1.8 (still says it's the latest version when I check for updates) and it still won't recognize parts of my pages that I've modified in iWeb. It doesn't work regardless if the "only optimize modified files" button is checked or not...it will recognize changes to the main pages of the site but fails to recognize changes to the photo gallery. For example if I add a text box somewhere on the actual gallery page Webcrusher will pick up the change and everything works as it should, however if I add a photo to the gallery portion of page it isn't picked up and not optimized...considering I'm a photographer...this is a HUGE issue...
Thanks,
Dax
Hi Dax,
The issue is most likely that what is being changed in iWeb's code is the external javascript and NOT the actual website you are making changes to. Would it be possible for you to copy your site into my iDisk Public folder (iDisk name is plevine1) and make sure the page that is causing problems is labelled so I know which one it is. Also, if you could put your domain.sites file on there so I can make changes to the site and test it, that would be very helpful.
