i have some questions regarding publishing iWeb to an ftp site (goDaddy hosting)in conjunciton with SEO. If i update my website thru the FTP feature in iWeb (without publishing 'locally' first), and then go in and later update SEO (when i go into SEO i do open the local version of the website - which is somtimes outdated since i normally just publish it straight to FTP) it overwrites my newest published version with my older website (the locally saved outdated version).

my question is, the iWeb SEO doesnt just update your already published website, its actually re-publishing your entire website using the local files you open when you open the sw?

also-each time i update my website thru iweb, and publish my website thru iWeb's FTP feature, do i then need to go into the SEO tool and republish that as well? or are the metatags and page titles saved? it seems like the SEO features disappear after i re-publish my website thru iWeb's FTP.

any guidance is much appreciated.

Hi,

Yes if you open an older site in iWeb SEO Tool and publish it, your older site will be on your server.

You need to always publish to a folder in iWeb and then open your site in iWeb SEO Tool. Press the Re-apply Saved Tags button and then publish to your FTP Server in iWeb SEO Tool.

You never have to publish to your FTP server with iWeb.

Hope this clears things up.

Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.
