Hi!

Every so often I get an error message when I am uploading my iWeb website to my hostserver. The message is:

widget0_markup.html: Overwrite permission denied.

Previously, restarting my iMac has cleared up the problem, This time is has not and I keep getting this error message preventing me from uploading my iWeb website.

Help, please!

Tony!

When you get that message, does it continue to publish the site or does it stop?

Make sure when you are publishing the site that you have all the correct FTP login information enter.

Hi, Jeremy!

Thanks for your reply! The day after I posted my problem, it uploaded perfectly! However, the problem has returned today with the same warning message…

widget0_markup.html: Overwrite permission denied.

although this time it is:

widget2_markup.html: Overwrite permission denied.

In all cases, the upload fails and is terminated, which is a bit of a disaster for me! I have obviously tried shutting down the computer over and over again, but to no avail! The information I have entered is the same as the last time that I updated my site a few days previously. Nothing has changed! It allows me to browse to set the Directory Path and the Upload button becomes active. However, at that point, I get the error message.

I do hope you can help me! I shall keep an eye open on this page for your reply. Thank you!
PS Normally it works like magic!

That error doesn't have anything to do with your computer so restarting won't help.

The reason has to do with your web hosting company. They aren't letting you overwrite existing files or at least those specific files.

You can email your web host and ask them for help or you can switch to our web hosting where we can guarantee that the software will work without any issues;
