I have used the Sitemap Automator tool several times and had no issues, but for some reason now i cannot get Google to recognize that the sitemap is loaded.
The hosting compnay i use requires that all web docs use httpdocs/ as the root and i already have another active web site using the sitemap fine on the same hosting company.
When i upload the sitemap for the new site it is loacted in the correct directory, then i go to my webmaster tools home page and as the new site is already added to the account i go to the option to upload the sitemap and this is were the trouble starts. it keeps on indicating that it cannot locate the sitemap, but when i check via the hosting management tools the sitemap file is were is should be...
Any ideas please?
thanks
John

It also matters where you tell Google Webmaster Tools your Sitemap is located. If you register your website in GWT's as domain.com, then your Sitemap needs to be located at domain.com/sitemap.xml (in most cases).
So always make sure that the location of your sitemap.xml file on your server is the same location you are giving to GWT.
