Toronto, Ontario – July 21, 2004 – Rage Software today announced the immediate availability of Macintosh Explorer 4.1. A major update to the integrated file browser and file management tool and the first Macintosh file browser to include tabbed file browsing.

Macintosh Explorer brings the hierarchical navigation style of Windows Explorer to the Mac. Complete with filter based file browsing and all new tabbed browsing, Macintosh Explorer surpass the functionality of Windows Explorer. Also offering powerful file management tools such as the batch file info changer, back up utilities, folder archiving features and extended file information, Macintosh Explorer is a new, unique way to navigate files.

Macintosh Explorer 4.1 introduces tabbed file browsing, the first file browser to support this method of file browsing. Tabbed file browsing allows users to browse multiple folders simultaneously without the clutter of multiple windows. Version 4.1 also introduces a new file search field in every Explorer window which provides the ability to search your entire computer or selected folders for certain documents.

Enhanced customization options including the new flavors feature which allows different color schemes to be applied to Macintosh Explorer, much faster file browsing and faster switching between file views can also be found in this version.

Lastly, version 4.1 fixes conflicts with third party applications which sometimes resulted in a crash on launch as well as a handful of other features and enhancements.
