Why does the software download all php and #wrap files from a wordpress install and not just the post, page, category and tag urls

It seems to me that downloading the hundreds of files in a wordpress build is unnecessary.

Is there a way to prevent this? Does the tool abide by a robots.txt file and the htaccess file?

It is going to download all pages for your site. It doesn’t know that it is a wordpress site. You can prevent this by creating in filters in Preferences (under the SEIntelligence menu at the top of your screen).
